Considering that December had been around the corner of the time, I decided to get into the Christmas spirit and go with a snow globe to represent the theme of "Home" for Art 1. With the help of my fellow classmate, Casey Brooks, and teacher, Mrs. Barnett, I figured out the background I had wanted and just what color scheme was needed to give my art piece that feeling of home. I was critiqued on how to give my snow globe a more three-dimensional look, and helped with the application of the glitter on the final version of my drawing. In the end, it all came down to basic color blending and learning the pattern of mahogany wood to put it all together.

For this week's theme of "Flight", I've chosen to take more of a vague approach to it. I've chosen to draw an aquatic animal leaping or, quickly surfacing, from water. Fortunately, a flying fish isn't completely out of the picture for this theme considering if you put your mind to it, just about anything can fly. For this mixed media art piece, I've made a repoussé frame and will place the drawing in the center. I'm hoping to maybe skewer in some ripples for a nice visual effect on the repoussé. Although there've been quite a few wrenches thrown in the works on this one, it'll hopefully come out more smooth by the final days of the deadline.
