Artists Develop Art making skills
During the first week of school in Art 1, Mrs. Barnett had given us the task of creating pinch-pot monsters/bobble-heads. Creating pinch-pots was definitely a new technique for me, for back in middle school, I had only made clay wire statues. Then, she revealed that our clay creations would be fired up in a kiln and afterwards, if we chose to, we could give our pinch-pots some color. I had no idea that making things out of clay could be so complex. I had chosen to go with a pinch-pot bobble head and after exploring multiple media sources, I had decided to model it after the Doom Shroom from Plants vs. Zombies.
Artists have a global awareness of artmaking
From the obscure works of Picasso to the beautiful murals of Michelangelo, I find art to be a creative inspiration in my life. When it comes to art, to be completely honest, I am the kind of person that likes to view it and imagine stories behind the painting. Technologically speaking, speed art is also something I enjoy, for you can see all of the complexity of it all and pause the video every now and then to get a better understanding of how much time it takes for something so amazing to come into being.
