1) The artwork that has been the most successful would have to be the one I did for our the theme of Stereotypes. The reason is because I love the overall look of it and I feel like I was able to accurately represent my chosen stereotype of all Americans being fat and lazy. 2) The one piece that makes me feel as if I overcame multiple obstacles would have to be my piece for our most recent theme of Interior/Exterior. This piece pushed me farther out of my comfort zone than I could even fathom due to the challenge being to use a new medium. My first try at the piece made me feel like I was up a creek without a paddle, for I almost never use oil pastels when working on an art project, and went pretty poorly, the colors not being what I thought they were at all. However, after taking the weekend to refresh myself and restart, I feel like it turned out alright. 3) The two pieces that I feel show my growth as an artist would have to be the ones that were created for Stereotypes and Interior/Exterior. Stereotype showcased my improvement on coloring and the ability to bring a mental image to life. Interior/Exterior, on the other hand, displays my attempt in trying to expand in my usage of mediums and showing that I'm not just some one-trick pony when it comes to my artwork. I mean, there's nothing wrong with using one medium throughout your art career, but, it doesn't hurt to try using something else for a change. 4) I feel very much the same about your method of teaching this time around as I did the first time I was exposed to it. The freedom to choose what medium we work with when it comes to our pieces is a breathe of fresh air, helping me shake off the rust that the two month hiatus of summer vacation brings along. P.S. Okay, real talk Mrs. Barnett. This first semester of my Art hasn't been my greatest. My major screw-ups speak for themselves. I know for a fact I could've done much better. That's why I'm glad this is only round one. I hope that in round two, I can display more variety and showcase more pride in my artwork. |

Artists Communicate Through Their WorkThe drawing above is my final work for the theme of Observation. This artwork is not only meant to be a display of my findings as I observed the stars for a few nights, but to also show my admiration for stargazing. Being able to take a few minutes out of my night to go outside and look up at the stars is fun for me. I've always been interested in what the night sky has to offer and wanted to one day incorporate it into a drawing of mine. Now, I've finally accomplished said feat. Artists PlanFor our current theme of Interior/Exterior, I hope to tackle the idea of displaying how one feels about oneself through mirroring. While the first two pictures (left, middle) show my thinking in terms of mirroring, the third image (right) would have to be the best example of what I plan on doing with this next piece. I hope to properly display how others view me externally, and how I view myself externally, whether it be reality or fantasy.
